GritAI Newsletter: ChatGPT Agent, Replit $100M ARR, and Lovable is now a Unicorn 🦄

Hey 👋

This week OpenAI launched the ChatGPT agent, giving users access to an AI that can plan, execute, and deliver complex tasks using its own virtual computer. It can navigate websites, run code, generate documents, and perform research with minimal input. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman called it "a real 'feel the AGI' moment," saying that watching the agent think, plan, and act on its own “hits different.” The rollout has started, but we have not gotten access here in Norway yet 🤨

Meanwhile, vibe coding keeps gaining traction. Replit hit $100 million in ARR, Amazon announced Kiro, Swedish startup Lovable became a unicorn at a $1.8 billion valuation, and Windsurf was split — with Google DeepMind licensing its core tech and hiring the founders, while the remaining product and team were acquired by Cognition. It is starting to look like vibe revenue might be the new ARR.

But this was not the only AI news this week. Let's dive in! 🏄

How to vibe code a backend with CMS, login, and auth

In this video we continue where we left off last week, taking our running app to the next level by building a content archive with login, roles and a full admin panel using Cursor AI and Supabase. All without writing code.

Hey 👋 A recent study from MIT got people talking these last few weeks: Is ChatGPT rotting our brains? The study tracked brain activity as students wrote essays, with and without AI assistance. The results were concerning. Those who used ChatGPT showed weaker brain connectivity, lower recall, and less sense of ownership over their work. Neuroscientist Anne-Laure Le Cunff offered a more balanced perspective. Her takeaway is that AI is not the problem. How we use it is. If we allow AI to do the...
