Happy New Year 🚀
One year ago we predicted that English would become the most important programming language. The term "vibe coding" coined by Andre Karpathy in the beginning of the year quickly caught on as models evolved from occasionally valuable but mostly frustrating to incredibly capable programmers now writing a big chunk of the production code in the major AI labs.
Alexander Embiricos, product lead for Codex at OpenAI, told Ars Technica in December that "the vast majority of Codex is built by Codex, so it's almost entirely just being used to improve itself." Boris Cherny, creator of Claude Code at Anthropic, made an even wilder claim that went viral over Christmas when he posted on December 27 that in the last thirty days every single line of his code was written by Claude Code and Opus 4.5.
We expect this trend to continue in 2026, moving from AI-assisted coding to AI doing most, if not all the coding, with humans orchestrating and assisting when relevant. As this shift accelerates, the main human contribution will increasingly be taste, judgment, and decision-making: knowing what to build, what to keep, what to discard, and when the output is good enough.
We also predicted that 2025 would be the rise of AI agents. AI agents arrived as models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google built reasoning and multi-step task handling into their flagship models. What we did not expect was how the launch of Claude Code would change everything. Claude Code emerged as a multi-purpose agent that goes far beyond coding. It turns your computer into a personal assistant that can work for hours on your files and data without constant hand-holding — handling everything from hours of research to strategy alignment to analyzing and extracting data from thousands of PDFs.
We are all in on Claude Code and have been for a while. In 2026, we will focus more on sharing content that helps people unlock its value for both coding and non-coding use cases. We have launched a Mastering Claude Codeseries on YouTube, we are hosting monthly Claude Code meetups in Oslo, and we will share more practical examples and workflows going forward. We are also building GritAI Agent using the Claude Code SDK to help customers deploy AI agents for their specific use cases.

Hey 👋 The question on every feed this week is no longer "which AI do you use?" It is "which agent are you running?" The Claude Code team is shipping like crazy. Recurring task loops, background agents, multi-agent teams, remote control from your phone, and you can now start brand new sessions straight from the Claude mobile app. These are the same autonomous capabilities that made OpenClaw explode in popularity, but shipped inside a tool backed by a leading frontier lab. And it is not just...
Hey 👋 Last week, OpenAI shipped GPT-5.4, the first model to beat humans at real desktop computer tasks. It scored 75% on OSWorld-V versus 72.4% for human workers. It comes with a one million token context window and a reasoning mode that beats professionals 83% of the time on GDPval. They also rolled out Skills for ChatGPT, letting teams turn workflows into reusable instructions. Finally! At the same time, more people are now signing up for Claude than ChatGPT. The Pentagon stance put...
Hey 👋 Anthropic raised $30 billion last week at a $380 billion valuation, the second-largest AI startup fundraise in history, just behind OpenAI. Revenue has grown 10x every year since 2023, from zero to $100 million, to $1 billion, to $9-10 billion, with another few billion added in January alone...🤯 Eight of the Fortune 10 are now Claude customers, and Claude Code alone runs at $2.5 billion in annual revenue and accounts for 4% of all public GitHub commits worldwide.
